A Fat Girl's Diary

The oh-so many frustrations in life.

"Toto, we're not in kansas anymore..."

Yep Toto, I am in Oz...well, was in Oz.

Oz was defintely different. Nice. People were strolling around barefooted. (a shock!) The cars actually stopped for pedestrians. (a nice surprise!)And the food was awfully bland. (though they had LARGE servings)

It was an amazing race. Literally. I wasn't able to relish the Australian flavor.

Though, there wasn't exactly what you would call truly australian in Gold Coast. It was a tourist destination for crying out loud. So there were a lot of chinese, japanese, koreans, thais, europeans, etc, etc. So we had chinese food, italian, all american fast food and what not. No kangaroo, ostrich, or crocodile meat. hehehe!

This one was very pinoy of us. Op cors, kodak here and picture there. I think we went there to take pictures of ourselves with the foreign background. hahaha! kaya tuloy di ko na enjoy lahat ng sights and rides sa dreamworld and seaworld. But anyway, as a true blue pinoy, i did enjoy having photo opps ;p

And shopping. by george! i am not a shopper...really. i hardly shop for myself cuz id spend my money for food, toiletries and whatnot and nights/days out with friends/duane. but since we were given pocket money, i had the POWER! first, i shopped for pasalubongs (another distinctly pinoy trait) for my family and onting friends (officemates who were left behind, duane and his family...) and then, i realized i had to shope for me self! and fortunately, the surfer brands (roxy, ripcurl and billabong) were cheaper. so i just went gaga! the bikinis and clothes were a bit pricey though. so i went to buy bags and bags and (syempre) undies (na on sale pa!).

eto yung talagang amazing race. ON the flight from the phils to Oz, there were some people who were left by the flight. so they had to change flights blah blah blah. so going back home to the phils, we were all afraid to get left behind since WALA NA KMENG MGA PERA! so nag amazing race nga kme. we ran and ran like the wind. we had to transfer planes cuz there was a connecting flight from brisbane to sydney (where we were to catch our flight to manila). we were all out of breath when we finally reached the whatchamacallit, the whatever lounge. syempre we were all carrying our bags full of pasalubongs...na AMBIBIGAT! whew!

bad trip pa since we had to go back to work the day AFTER we arrived. we arrived around 8pm. and had to be at our desks, slaving away, at 830am. hilong hilo nga kme lahat sa opis e. "jetlag" dahil 2 hours lang ang time diff.

I just hope i could return to Oz. Where are my ruby red shoes anyway???
