Lessons from the Little Prince and Leo Castillo

If you've read the Little Prince (which was a required reading during highschool for most of us), you would remember the story of the Turkish/Morrocan (if I remember correctly) astrologer. He was the one who discovered the asteroid B612, where the Little Prince lived. He presented his discovery wearing his national costume/attire but no one believed him. Then he changed into a suit/tuxedo, presented to the same set of people and everyone then believed his claims.

Lesson: Outward appearances affect people's judgments/perceptions.

This is also true with cameras. If you are serious about your photography, you would be more credible if you actually owned a DSLR/SLR camera versus that of a point and shoot. People think that if you own a DLSR/SLR, it is given that you take great photos.

But such is not the case.

As shared by our mentor, Leo Castillo, "Wala sa pana yan, nasa indian." Hence, it is not just the camera settings that make a good photograph, but, more importantly, it is the eye and the technique of the photographer.
